Luck Hits Hard: Mega Millions Player Snaps $3M, Powerball Fan Scores $1M
Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing on February 6th turned out to be a bit of a tease. The winning numbers were 13, 21, 25, 52, 62, with a Mega Ball of 19.
While nobody claimed the massive $346 million jackpot, one player in Minnesota came incredibly close. They matched all five white balls, and because they had the 3X multiplier active, their $1 million prize tripled to a cool $3 million. Other players across the country also padded their bank accounts, taking home between $20,000 and $50,000 depending on their multipliers.
Since the top prize went untouched, the jackpot for the next drawing on Tuesday, February 10th, has climbed to $366 million.
The Saturday, February 7th Powerball drawing kept the momentum going. The numbers drawn were 25, 36, 42, 51, 58, and the Powerball was 6.
Again, the $101 million jackpot stayed put, but a lucky ticket holder in Georgia matched all five white balls to win $1 million. They just missed out on a $2 million payout by not opting for the Power Play feature. Eight other players hit smaller tiers, including one savvy winner who used the Power Play to turn a $50,000 prize into $100,000.
The massive jackpots are still up for grabs, but these winners prove you don’t have to hit every single number to have a very good weekend. Sometimes, being just one number away is still a massive win.
