He Vows to Donate It
A man with an amazing ability to help others was recently awarded a lottery prize that few will ever have the chance to experience. Last week, 81-year-old Charles “Charlie” Coffey, an Officer of the Order of Canada for his absolutely exceptional humanitarian work, won $25 million on his LOTTO MAX ticket. Just imagine it, blessings that one truly deserves.
Over the last two decades, he has worked on a voluntary basis with different aboriginal communities as well as for women entrepreneurs. In 2003, he was rewarded with one of Canada’s highest civil honors for his philanthropic service.
After a stop in Toronto where he had filled up his car, Charlie decided to sort through his old lottery tickets. On him were two of them, one of them being despicable, and the other having $25 million hidden underneath its front.
Most astonishingly, the money will not actually affect what he spends. It will simply expand the scope of philanthropy he donates to. Charlie plans to extend the level of financial assistance he provides for the indigenous people’s causes, women entrepreneurs, early childhood education, and many other things he actually attends to.
